Message from forever [antikvár]

In this long-awaited novel, Marlo Morgan explores self-enlightenment through the intertwined lives of Aboriginal twins separated at birth. The story highlights the inspiring Aboriginal worldview while addressing the ongoing plight of an ancient race facing extinction due to centuries of discrimination. The twins, taken from their mother by Christian missionaries, lead vastly different lives. The boy, Geoff, is raised on a sheep ranch with minimal supervision, developing his artistic talent despite a lack of cultural identity. Adopted by an American minister, he grows up in New England, disconnected from his heritage. Meanwhile, his sister, Beatrice, endures racism and loss at an Australian orphanage, longing to uncover her roots. Upon adulthood, she embarks on a journey into the northern desert, joining a group of Aborigines for a walkabout. In contrast, Geoff's teenage years spiral into crime and addiction, leading him to Death Row. After years of learning about her culture, Beatrice becomes a political activist for Aboriginal rights and encounters Geoff, unaware of their bond. She shares with him the "message from forever," which conveys Aboriginal philosophy and principles of good living. This message challenges readers to rethink identity, spirituality, and the pursuit of justice, urging a return to timeless values and wisdom.
